To enhance the workflow of our current TCGrx Rollpac machine, Middle Tennessee Pharmacy Services is adding a new pouch verification system. The technology electronically inspects medications in each pouch for every patient, analyzing several verification points to ensure accuracy. Once reviewed, each image is saved and color-categorized: green for good, yellow meaning suspicious and red being incorrect. The colors alert the pharmacist of any issues with the medication, allowing them to go back and correct any errors.
We are very excited about adding this technology, as it sets us apart from other long-term care pharmacies. Not only does this new system ensure we are giving residents the correct medication, but it also speeds up our processes so we are able to offer more efficient customer service.
